Abstract:Objective To explore correlations of the severity of children’s mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) with the level of 25 hydroxy vitamin D [25-(OH)D] and the changes of T lymphocyte subsets in blood.Methods Eighty-eight cases diagnosed as mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia were selected from July of 2010 to January of 2012, and were divided into severe MPP group (21 cases) and MPP group (67cases). Thirty healthy children were selected as controls. Serum 25-(OH)D and T lymphocyte subsets were assessed.Results Indicators of serum 25-(OH)D, CD3+T, and CD4+T in severe MPP group were lower than in MPP group and the control group, The differences were all statistically significant.Conclusion Vitamin D deficiency may affect the severity of MPP in children.
