Objective To evaluate the nutritional status, and to assess knowledge about, attitudes towards, and practice on nutrition among sophomores in a vocation school in Beihai, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China. Methods Knowledge about, attitude towards, and practice on nutrition were investiga-ted among 554 newly admitted students, and their nutritional status was evaluated according to the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended standards of weight - for - height and the Broca improvement for-mula. Results Students with malnutrition, over - weight and obese accounted for 47. 0 %, 2. 4 %, and 3. 6 %, respectively, among all the students surveyed. As high as 74 % of students lack basic knowledge on nutrition, although move than 70% of the students reported having interest in nutrition. Conclusion Mal-nutrition is common among the students, and nutrition intervention and education are warranted in the school.
