Abstract:Objective To examine the clinical value of transvaginal color Doppler in the classification of endometrium in PCOS patients.Methods 75 patients with PCOS (PCOS group) and 33 healthy subjects (control group) from June 2014 to April 2016 were selected as the study subjects. The endometrium of PCOS patients were examined by transvaginal color Doppler to determine the classification. Two endometrial tissue samples were taken and HE staining was performed. SP method were used to detect Ki67 and calcitonin immunologically. Histological staging of the endometrium was performed. In addition, the levels of FSH, LH, progesterone, estradiol, prolactin, and testosterone were examined before and after the endometrial tissue sampling. The results of endometrial ultrasonography and histological staging were compared.Results In ultrasonic typing of 75 patients with PCOS, type A of endometrium accounted for 24 cases, type B 33 cases, and type C 18 cases. Postmenopausal days ranged 20 to 89 days in 41 cases. All patients with menopause over 90 days were classified as type B or type C. During the period of organization credits, 62 cases were in the proliferative phase, of whom, 6 cases showed proliferative disease, 13 cases were in the secretory phase and all of them showed different levels of secretion. There was no significant difference in endometrial staging of PCOS patients. No significant difference in hormone levels between the proliferative phase and secretory phase was observed. In PCOS group, 24 patients were classified as endometrium type A, 3 cases as with focal density, and others as interstitial abnormalities. The interstitial abnormality rate was 13.0%. There were 51 non-type A cases (type B or type C), 21 cases showed abnormal with a interstitial abnormality rate was 40.4%. The positive expression rate of proliferative phase Ki67 in PCOS group was (31.0±12.0)%, and the secretory phase was (16.0±7.0)%, and the difference was statistically significant. The proliferative phase of the control group was (35.0±11.0)%, and the secretory phase was (10.0±6.0)%, and the difference was statistically significant. The difference in the expression of calcitonin in endometrium between the two groups was not statistically significant.Conclusion PCOS patients receiving endometrial transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound scan showed strong echo, and endometrial morphology showed proliferation and secretion abnormalities. These characteristics may be associated with endometrial stromal tissue changes in PCOS patients.
