Abstract:Objective To understand the prevalence of anemia among Chinese pregnant women, and to provide scientific evidences for improving the policy of prevention and control of maternal anemia in China. Methods We searched Wanfang, Zhiwang, Sinomed, PubMed and other databases for literatures on the prevalence of anemia during pregnancy in China by keyword matching. Noteexpress and Excel software were used for data management and analysis. Results A total of 109 studies were included in our article. 93.6% of the studies were cross-sectional studies, only 4.6% were national level, and 15.6% were population sampling. The prevalence of anemia among pregnant women in China was 10%-40%. There were great differences in the prevalence of anemia reported in different regions. The prevalence of anemia among pregnant women decreased gradually from 2000 to 2019, the risk increases with the growth of trimester. Conclusion Anemia among pregnant women in China is a mild to moderate public health problem. It is suggested to strengthen policy and research support to effectively promote the intervention of maternal anemia.
