Abstract:Objective To analyze the incidence and influencing factors of the low birth weight (LBW) newborn in Hebei Province in 2021, and to provide a reliable basis for formulating policies and plans for maternal and child health work. Methods This is a retrospective study. Clinical data of ≥ 28w pregnant women with single live births were collected from 22 monitoring hospitals in Hebei Province from January 1 2021 to December 31 2021. Pregnant women who died in all departments of the hospital were included in the study. A total of 52 504 singleton live births were included in this study. The age of pregnant women ranged from 14 to 46 years, and the gestational age of delivery ranged from 28 to 43 weeks. The 22 monitoring hospitals were distributed in 15 counties (cities and districts) in the province. And the incidence of LBW and its influencing factors were analyzed. Results A total of 52 504 singleton live births were included in this study, and the incidence of LBW was 3.6%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that delivery in third grade hospital, maternal age < 20 years, with comorbidities/complications, placental abruption, hypertension in pregnancy, and premature delivery were risk factors for LBW; mothers with education level of bachelor degree or above, multiparous, diabetes and anemia were the protective factors. Conclusion High-risk groups should be identified, management should be standardized, and targeted prevention and treatment should be carried out to effectively reduce the incidence of LBW.
