Abstract:Objective To describe the clinical features, treatments and birth outcomes of pregnant women with scoliosis. MethodsClinical data of 27 pregnant women with scoliosis were retrospectively analyzed, along with telephone interviews. Results Among the 27 cases, 21 cases were primiparous and the other 6 cases were multiparous. In the primiparous group, four cases showed cardiac dysfunction (19.0%), two cases suffered from frequent pulmonary infection (9.5%), two cases had hypertensive disorders during pregnancy (9.5%), and seven women had adverse birth outcomes (33.3%). In the multiparous group, one case showed cardiac dysfunction (16.7%), two cases had hypertensive disorders during pregnancy (33.3%), and three cases had adverse birth outcomes (50%). Conclusion Pregnant women with scoliosis may lead to cardiac dysfunction, pulmonary infection, and premature delivery. Early diagnosis and intervention can help improve the outcomes of mothers and fetuses.
